Da Lat, also known as Dalat, is a city located in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. Situated at an elevation of 1,500 meters (4,900 feet) above sea level on the Langbiang Plateau, it serves as a prominent geographical landmark within the country.
Historically, Da Lat served as the capital of Lâm Đồng Province and was the largest city in its region. While it remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in Vietnam, it ceased to exist as a municipal city on July 1, 2025, following the elimination of district-level units in the country.
