Đông Hà is the capital city of Quảng Trị Province, situated in the North Central Coast region of central Vietnam. It serves as a primary administrative center for the province and is positioned approximately 68.6 miles (110.4 km) north of Huế and 101 miles (163 km) south of Đồng Hới in Quảng Bình Province.
As of 2024, the city has a population of approximately 164,228 people. It is characterized by its geographical location within the central coastal corridor of the country.
