Ha Long

Hạ Long is a former first-class provincial city and the capital of Quảng Ninh province in Vietnam. It is situated approximately 178 km (111 mi) east of the national capital, Hà Nội.

The city was established in 1993 following the merger of Hòn Gai, the previous capital, with Bãi Cháy, which serves as a primary tourist destination. Much of the city lies on Hạ Long Bay. As of 2019, the population of Hạ Long was 270,054.
