Điện Biên Phủ is a city located in the northwestern region of Vietnam. It previously served as the capital of Điện Biên Province until the administrative reform implemented in 2025.

The city is historically significant for hosting the decisive Battle of Điện Biên Phủ during the First Indochina War, which was a conflict for independence against France. In prior history, the area was known as Muang Thaeng and serves as a center for ethnic Tai culture.
