Tariba

Táriba is a town located in the state of Táchira, Venezuela. It serves as the capital of the Cárdenas Municipality and is situated on the outskirts of the city of San Cristóbal.

The settlement was founded in 1602, though the area was originally inhabited by ancient indigenous people before being discovered by Alonso Pérez de Tolosa in 1547. As of current records, Táriba has a population of 128,590.
