La Azulita

La Azulita is a town located in the state of Mérida, Venezuela. It serves as the capital of the Andrés Bello Municipality and is situated in the Venezuelan Andes at an elevation of 1,135 metres (3,724 ft) above sea level.

The town is positioned on the northern slopes of the cordillera facing Lake Maracaibo, approximately 75 kilometres (47 mi) from the city of Mérida. It has a population estimated at 16,000 inhabitants and experiences average temperatures ranging between 17 and 25 °C.
