La Vela de Coro is a coastal city located in Venezuela that serves as the port for the nearby city of Coro. While the two locations form a conurbation, they are situated in separate administrative districts; Coro is located within the municipality of Miranda, whereas La Vela de Coro is situated in the municipality of Colina.
Both settlements were established by Spanish settlers during the 16th century. The historical relationship between the port and the city remains a defining characteristic of the region's layout and development.
