Barinitas is a town and parish situated at the foot of the Andean Cordillera in the state of Barinas, Venezuela. It serves as the capital of the Bolívar Municipality and is considered an important region within the state.
The location is recognized by the nicknames "La Cuna de los Poetas" and "Cielo Roto." The latter name refers to the area's characteristic heavy rainfall.
