San José de Guanipa, also known as El Tigrito, is a city located in the state of Anzoátegui in Venezuela. It serves as the capital of the Guanipa Municipality.
The city was officially founded in 1910, though it was previously inhabited as a settlement by the Kali'na people. Geographically, El Tigrito is situated between the larger town of El Tigre and the oil camp of San Tomé.
