San Carlos de Río Negro is a city located in Venezuela's Amazonas State. It serves as the administrative capital for the municipal district of Río Negro and is situated on the opposite side of the Rio Negro from the Colombian city of San Felipe.
The city has a population of approximately 1,200 inhabitants, who are primarily composed of Amerindian people. Specifically, the community is inhabited by members of the Yanomami and Baniwa (Kurripako) peoples.
