Tarariras is a city and municipality located in the Colonia Department of Uruguay. It officially received its status as a "ciudad" (city) in 1969.
The name of the city originates from the nearby Tarariras stream, which flows into the San Juan River. According to the 2023 census, the population of the city was 7,269.
