Sturgeon Bay is a city located in the United States on the Door Peninsula. It is situated approximately halfway up the peninsula and serves as the namesake for Sturgeon Bay, an arm of Green Bay that extends southeastward for about 10 miles.
The bay is connected to Lake Michigan via the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal. Historically, the Potawatomi people referred to the area as "Na-ma-we-qui-tong."
