Spokane Valley is a geographical valley formed by the Spokane River as it flows through the southern Selkirk Mountains in Washington state, United States. The region serves as a primary residential and urban area, housing the city of Spokane along with its surrounding suburbs, which include Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, and Millwood.
The valley is defined by distinct geological boundaries: it is bordered to the north and south by the Selkirk Mountains, to the west by the Columbia River Basalt Group, and to the east by the Rathdrum Prairie at the Idaho state border. To the south, Mica Peak serves as the southernmost peak of the Selkirk Range, separating the valley from the Palouse region. Additionally, the area contains a portion of the Spokane Valley–Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer.
