Burien is a suburban city located in King County, Washington, in the United States. It is situated south of Seattle along the shores of Puget Sound.
Incorporated in 1993, Burien experienced significant growth and became the 25th most populous city in Washington state as of the 2020 census. Its population reached 52,066, representing a 56.3% increase since its incorporation, aided by a notable annexation in 2010.
