A guildhall, also referred to as a guild house, is a type of historical building that originated in Europe. These structures were primarily established for the purpose of tax collection by merchants or municipalities.
While many such buildings have been preserved and still exist today in Great Britain and the Low Countries, they frequently evolved into town halls or museums over time. Despite these functional changes, many of these sites retain their original names as guildhalls.
