Sussex is a historical area located in South East England that formerly served as a kingdom before becoming a county. Today, the region is divided into two ceremonial counties: East Sussex and West Sussex. These areas collectively border Surrey to the north, Kent to the north-east, Hampshire to the west, and the English Channel to the south.
The region features a coastline spanning 137 miles (220 km) and contains several notable geographical landmarks and urban centers.
