Powhatan

The Powhatan are an Indigenous people of the Northeastern Woodlands located in the United States. Historically, they were a leading member of the Powhatan Confederacy, which was situated in the region known as Tsenacommacah in eastern Virginia.

Members of this group speak an Algonquian language. Their historic territories and cultural presence are primarily associated with the coastal regions of the Virginia area.
