Manassas, formerly known as Manassas Junction, is an independent city located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. According to the 2020 Census, the city had a population of 42,772 residents.
The city serves as the county seat for Prince William County, though it remains a separate jurisdiction from the county. Manassas borders the independent city of Manassas Park; for statistical purposes, the Bureau of Economic Analysis includes both Manassas and Manassas Park within Prince William County.
