Franconia is a geographical region located in Germany. It is primarily characterized by its distinct culture and the East Franconian dialect.
The region is composed of three administrative districts (Regierungsbezirke) within Bavaria: Lower, Middle, and Upper Franconia. Additionally, it encompasses parts of South Thuringia south of the Thuringian Forest, which serves as the language boundary between Franconian and Thuringian, as well as the eastern sections of Heilbronn-Franconia in Baden-Württemberg.
