Karnes City is a city located in the state of Texas, United States. It serves as the county seat of Karnes County and is situated along U.S. Highway 181. The town is positioned approximately 24 miles southeast of Floresville and 54 miles southeast of San Antonio.
The city was named in honor of Henry Karnes, a figure from the Texas Revolution. According to the 2020 census, Karnes City had a population of 3,111 people, reflecting a slight increase from the 3,042 residents recorded during the 2010 census.
