Spartanburg is a city located in South Carolina, United States. It serves as the county seat of Spartanburg County and is also known by the nickname "Sparkle City."
As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 38,732, ranking it as the 11th-most populous city in the state. The Office of Management and Budget groups Spartanburg and Union counties together to form the Spartanburg, SC Metropolitan Statistical Area.
