Darlington is a market town located in the Borough of Darlington within County Durham, England. It is situated on the River Skerne, approximately 13 miles (21 km) west of Middlesbrough and 17 miles (27 km) south of Durham.
As of the 2021 Census, the town had a population of 107,800, classifying it as a "large town" and one of the largest settlements in North East England. The town serves as a significant transport hub, connected to London, Leeds, York, Newcastle, and Edinburgh via the A1(M) motorway and the East Coast Main Line railway.
