State College is a borough located in Centre County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It serves as the largest settlement within the county and holds the distinction of being the largest borough in the state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the borough had a population of 40,501.
The area comprising State College and its surrounding townships is collectively referred to as Happy Valley, which is situated within the larger Nittany Valley. Geographically and economically, State College, along with the nearby city of DuBois, anchors the State College–DuBois combined statistical area, which encompasses all of Centre and Clearfield counties.
