Scranton is a second A class city located in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. It serves as the county seat of Lackawanna County and is situated within the Wyoming Valley metropolitan area, which consists of five cities and more than 40 boroughs forming a contiguous urban corridor.
According to the 2020 census, Scranton has a population of 76,328, making it the sixth-most populous city in Pennsylvania and the most populous city in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The city is positioned approximately 56 miles north of Allentown, 104 miles north-northwest of Philadelphia, and 99 miles west-northwest of New York City.
