Ebensburg is a borough and the county seat of Cambria County in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. It is situated in the Allegheny Mountains at an elevation of approximately 2,140 feet (650 meters) above sea level. The borough is located roughly 25 miles west of Altoona and is entirely surrounded by Cambria Township.
The area is characterized by its location within a rich bituminous coal region. Historically, the local economy supported various industries, including sawmills, tanneries, wool mills, and a foundry. As part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area, Ebensburg had a population of 3,404 as of the 2020 census.
