West Linn is a city located in Clackamas County, Oregon, within the United States. It serves as a southern suburb of the Portland metropolitan area.
The city was developed on the site of the former settlement of Linn City. This original location was named in honor of U.S. Senator Lewis F. Linn, who advocated for the American occupation of Oregon Country as a counterclaim to British interests.
