The Dalles, formally known as the City of the Dalles, is an inland port and the county seat of Wasco County in Oregon, United States. It serves as the largest city in the county and is situated approximately 75 miles east of Portland within the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
The city is notable for being the largest municipality along the Columbia River outside of the Portland Metropolitan Area. According to the 2020 census, the population of The Dalles was 16,010.
