Oregon City is a city located in the state of Oregon, United States. It serves as the county seat of Clackamas County and is situated on the Willamette River near the southern boundaries of the Portland metropolitan area.
The city was established in 1829 by the Hudson's Bay Company. In 1844, it achieved historical significance by becoming the first United States city west of the Rocky Mountains to be incorporated. As of the 2020 census, Oregon City had a population of 37,572.
