Lake Oswego is a city located in the U.S. state of Oregon, primarily situated within Clackamas County with small portions extending into Multnomah and Washington counties. It is positioned approximately 7 miles (11 km) south of Portland and serves as a suburb of the larger metropolitan area.
Founded in 1847 and incorporated as Oswego in 1910, the city was historically significant as the hub of Oregon's brief iron industry during the late 19th century. The community surrounds the 405-acre (164 ha) Oswego Lake and had a population of 40,731 in 2020, making it the 11th most populous city in the state.
