Klamath Falls is a city located in the state of Oregon, United States. It serves as the county seat of Klamath County and is situated on the southeastern shore of the Upper Klamath Lake at the foothills of the Cascade Range.
Originally founded in 1867 by George Nurse as Linkville, the city was named after the falls on the Link River where it was sited. The name was officially changed to Klamath Falls in 1893. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 21,813, while the combined population with its suburb, Altamont, reached 42,046 residents.
The city is notable for being home to the Oregon Institute of Technology.
