Pickerington is a city situated in Fairfield and Franklin counties within the central region of Ohio, United States. It serves as a suburb of Columbus and had a recorded population of 23,094 during the 2020 census.
The city was originally founded in 1815 under the name Jacksonville, named for Andrew Jackson. In 1827, it was renamed Pickerington to honor its founder, Abraham Pickering. The area has experienced significant growth driven by immigration, land annexation, and development mirroring the expansion of Columbus.
A notable landmark in the city is the Motorcycle Hall of Fame, which is located off Interstate 70.
