Kettering is a market and industrial town located in the North Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England. It is situated west of the River Ise, which serves as a tributary of the River Nene.
The town is positioned approximately 15 miles north-east of Northampton, 28 miles south-east of Leicester, and 31 miles south-west of Peterborough. It lies roughly 45 miles west of Cambridge. The name Kettering is derived from the phrase "the place of Ketter's people."
