The West Village is a neighborhood located in the western section of the larger Greenwich Village neighborhood in Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States. It is situated along the Hudson River to its west and is bounded by 14th Street to the north.
The eastern boundary of the West Village is defined variously as Greenwich Avenue, Seventh Avenue, or Sixth Avenue. Its southern boundary is identified as either Houston Street or Christopher Street.
