Scarsdale is a coterminous town and village located in Westchester County, New York, in the United States. Situated approximately 19 miles north of New York City, the community lies inland within the Bronx River Valley and covers an area of 6.683 square miles.
While the Town of Scarsdale is coextensive with the Village of Scarsdale, the community operates solely under a village government. The area is divided into 17 neighborhoods grouped into five geographic regions: Edgewood, Fox Meadow, Greenacres, Heathcote, and Quaker Ridge. It is served by the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line at the Scarsdale station.
The community features six entries on the National Register of Historic Places. Its infrastructure and governance are defined by its unique status as a town and village sharing the same geographic boundaries.
