Parkchester

Parkchester is a planned community and neighborhood located in the east Bronx of New York City. It was originally developed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. The surrounding immediate area also derives its name from this residential complex.

The boundaries of Parkchester are defined by East Tremont Avenue to the north, Castle Hill Avenue to the east, Westchester Avenue to the south, and White Plains Road to the west. Its southwestern boundary is marked by East 177th Street and the Cross Bronx Expressway. The primary thoroughfares passing through the neighborhood include Metropolitan Avenue, Unionport Road, and White Plains Road.
