Park Slope is a residential neighborhood located in the South Brooklyn section of New York City, United States. It is geographically bounded by Prospect Park and Prospect Park West to the east, Fourth Avenue to the west, Flatbush Avenue to the north, and the Prospect Expressway to the south.
The neighborhood derives its name from its position on the western slope of Prospect Park. It is generally divided into three distinct sections: North Slope, Center Slope, and South Slope. The area's streetscape is characterized by east–west side streets lined with apartment buildings and brownstones, while Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue serve as the primary commercial corridors.
