Nanuet is a hamlet and census-designated place located within the town of Clarkstown in New York, United States. It serves as the third largest hamlet in Clarkstown and is situated roughly midway between Manhattan and Bear Mountain, positioned approximately 19 miles (31 km) north and south of each location respectively.
The community is located north of Pearl River, south of New City, east of Spring Valley, and west of West Nyack. It sits just 2 miles (3 km) north of the New Jersey border. As of the 2020 census, Nanuet had a population of 18,886 residents.
Nanuet is notable for its transportation infrastructure, featuring one of three Rockland County stations on New Jersey Transit's Pascack Valley Line.
