Long Island City (LIC) is a neighborhood located within the borough of Queens in New York City, United States. Its name originates from its geographical position on the western tip of Long Island.
The neighborhood is bordered by Astoria to the north and Sunnyside to the east. It is bounded by the East River to the west and Newtown Creek to the south, where it meets Greenpoint in Brooklyn.
