Reno is a city located in the northwest section of Nevada, United States, situated along the state border with California. It serves as the county seat and the most populous city within Washoe County. Geographically, it sits in the Truckee River valley within the High Eastern Sierra foothills on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The city is positioned approximately 23 miles northeast of Lake Tahoe. As of the 2020 census, Reno had a population of 264,165, making it the third most populous city in Nevada and the 78th most populous city in the United States. It is notably recognized by the nickname "The Biggest Little City in the World."
