South Orange is a historic suburban village situated in Essex County, New Jersey, in the United States. It was formally recognized as the Township of South Orange Village from October 1978 until April 25, 2024.
According to the 2020 United States census, the population of the village was 18,484, representing a 14.1% increase from the 2010 census count of 16,198. The area is notably home to Seton Hall University.
