Hebron is a city located in the southern West Bank, Palestine. It serves as the capital of the Hebron Governorate, which is the largest governorate in the West Bank. The city is situated approximately 30 kilometers (19 mi) south of Jerusalem and spans an area of 74.1 square kilometers (28.6 sq mi).
Hebron is the third largest city in the country, following Gaza and East Jerusalem. The population within the city limits is 201,063, while the surrounding metropolitan area within the governorate houses over 700,000 people. The city holds significant religious importance as it is considered one of the Four Holy Cities in Judaism and is also venerated in both Christianity and Islam.
