West Point

West Point is a city located in New York, United States. It serves as the site for the United States Military Academy (USMA), which educates cadets to become commissioned officers in the United States Army.

Founded in 1802, West Point is the oldest of the five American service academies. The military has occupied the location since 1780, when a fort was established during the American Revolutionary War. The site is characterized by its strategic high ground overlooking the Hudson River, situated approximately 50 miles north of New York City.
