Shakopee is a city located in the state of Minnesota, United States. It serves as the county seat of Scott County and is situated southwest of Minneapolis.
The city is positioned on the south bank bend of the Minnesota River. It and its nearby suburbs make up the southwest portion of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area, which is the 16th-largest metropolitan area in the nation with a population of 3.7 million people.
According to the 2020 census, the population of Shakopee was 43,698.
