The Menominee are a federally recognized tribe of Native Americans officially known as the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. They currently have a population of approximately 8,700 members.
The tribe's land base is located on the Menominee Indian Reservation in Wisconsin. Historically, their territory was significantly larger, encompassing an estimated 10 million acres (40,000 km2) across present-day Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
