Lansing is the capital city of the U.S. state of Michigan. Located in the central region of the state, it is the most populous city in Ingham County, with portions of the city also extending into Eaton County and Clinton County to the north.

It serves as a significant regional hub for government, education, insurance, and commerce. The broader Lansing–East Lansing metropolitan area has an estimated population of 473,000 residents, ranking as the third largest metropolitan area in the state behind Detroit and Grand Rapids.
