Charlevoix is a cultural and natural region located in Quebec, Canada. It is situated on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River and encompasses parts of the Laurentian Mountains area of the Canadian Shield. Administratively, the region consists of the Charlevoix and Charlevoix-Est regional county municipalities, which are part of the larger Capitale-Nationale administrative region.
The area is characterized by a dramatic landscape featuring rolling terrain, fjords, headlands, and bays. Due to its unique geographical and environmental features, the region was designated as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1989.
