North Potomac is a census-designated place and unincorporated area located in Montgomery County, Maryland, in the United States. It is situated approximately 20 miles (32 km) from Washington, D.C., and lies less than 5 miles (8.0 km) north of the Potomac River.
As of the 2020 census, North Potomac has a population of 23,790 residents. The area serves as a residential community within the greater metropolitan region surrounding the nation's capital.
