Maryland City is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, in the United States. It is situated east of Laurel and sits just over the border with Prince George's County. According to the 2010 census, the population of the area was 16,093.
The geography of Maryland City primarily consists of an older, compact housing development that is adjacent to the Fort Meade army base. The CDP also includes a large newer development on the north side of Maryland Route 198 known as Russett. Additionally, while the ZIP Code 20724 was designated for a large swath of western Anne Arundel County in 1963, none of that area is located within the City of Laurel.
