New Bedford is a city located in Bristol County, Massachusetts, in the United States. Situated on the Acushnet River within the South Coast region, the city abuts Buzzards Bay.
As of the 2020 census, New Bedford had a population of 101,079, making it the ninth-largest city in Massachusetts and the largest city in the South Coast region. It is also identified as the second-largest city in the Providence metropolitan area and is included in the greater Boston combined statistical area.
