Allston

Allston is an officially recognized neighborhood located in Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. It was named in honor of Washington Allston, who was an American painter and poet. The geographic boundaries of the neighborhood comprise the land covered by the 02134 zip code.

For administrative purposes, Allston is largely managed collectively with the adjacent neighborhood of Brighton; the two areas are frequently referred to together as Allston–Brighton. Public services in the area are provided by Boston Police Department District D-14 and a Boston Fire Department station located in Union Square. This fire station houses Engine 41 and Ladder 14, with Engine 41 carrying the nickname "The Bull" to commemorate the neighborhood's historic stockyards.
